Travelling to Bologna

Air Access

Bologna International Airport takes the name from the Nobel prize winner in Physics and inventor of radio Guglielmo Marconi. Ground Transport – Train

Bologna’s geographical location as center of an extensive and efficient transport  network makes it a natural crossroads and commercial hub in Italy and Europe and will enable minimum waste of time in travelling both for international and national delegates.

All the fast trains (Eurostar & Alta Velocità), Intercity, Regional arrive at Bologna train station. Public buses leave from the square in front of the station to reach all the directions within the city centre and Bologna premises.

The ticket counters are open everyday from 5.30 am to 10.00pm. There are also available self‐service ticketing machines.

How to move around

Bologna’s historic centre has been beautifully maintained, its original Roman street plan still discernible today. The best way to explore the city is on foot, taking time to admire the architecture and digest the wonderful food that you’re sure to find.

There are close to 200 lines of public buses in service from 5.00 a.m. to midnight.

Most buses are accessible for wheelchair users.

The night transportation service runs from midnight to 4.00 a.m.
